Every month needs a theme to set the mood, and this month’s is all about blush pinks, hearts, and yummy pastries. Plus, what better way to enjoy the month than sipping hot cocoa in little red mugs?

February always feels like such a bright light amidst the gray of winter. The pops of pink and red add such a playful vibe to everything. Plus, who doesn't want to receive a Valentine? If you want a really fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day, get a group of your girlfriends together to craft some Valentines. Moodboard: New Years and Fresh Starts

Every month needs a theme to set the mood, and this month’s is all about fresh starts. There is such a freshness to the new year. There is often fresh snow (depending on where you live), fresh goals being set, new ideas to implement, and new habits to cultivate. It's a time of getting organized and cleaning up after the holidays. It's also a great time to get outside for some winter activities including ice skating or cross country skiing. With everything being icy and crisp, blue always feels like an appropriate color for this time of year.

I wish you all the best as we kick off this new year!

Moodboard: Wisps of Winter

Every month needs a theme to set the mood, and this month's is all about the wisps of winter—the greenery, twinkle lights, pretty gift wrapping, and the general magic that surrounds Christmas time. I personally am loving the combination of black and white with rich greenery and some twinkle lights to soften everything up. Gingerbread cookies are also a must this month. Happy December!

Moodboard: November Nights

Every month needs a theme to set the mood, and this month’s is all about yummy food, cozy coats and mittens, hot cocoa by the fire, family and friends, and a touch of glitz.

I personally love November. There is an aura of anticipation for Christmas beginning to buzz about, and yet there is still a bit of calmness as everyone is getting ready to cozy up and hibernate for the winter. The air is crisp. The novelty of coats and mittens hasn't worn off yet. Here in Minnesota we may see the first few flutters of snowflakes. Then, Thanksgiving kicks off the final countdown to the new year with a bang—comfort food, a touch of glitz on the tabletop (if I have anything to do with it), and reflecting on the many things in life to be thankful for heading into Christmas.

I'd love to know if you have anything special on the docket for this month? Any traditions heading into the holiday season?

Moodboard: Getting Cozy

Every month needs a theme to set the mood, and this month’s is all about getting cozy. It seems that most everyone I know is pulling out their flannel sheets, picking up a new throw blanket, making or buying apple cider, and just generally getting their sweaters ready as the days get a little more crisp. I've also seen some leaves starting to change, and more and more porches in our neighborhood have pumpkins out to set the fall tone. I personally love fall, so I'm excited for the change, but I know it means that the blustery winter weather will be quick on its heels. In the meantime, I intend to enjoy it to its fullest! Happy October!
